ALMAA started the way most good things do, without a plan.

I made a bag for myself. Then one for a friend. Then another, and another, until making bags had quietly become the most joyful part of my day. So I decided to stop apologising for it and start sharing it.

Every bag I make starts with a handful of yarn and a lot of intention. I live and make in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, where the mornings are slow, the light is good, and there is always something on the hook. ALMAA is my way of bringing a little of that into the everyday lives of the people who carry these bags.

I don't make hundreds of bags. I make a small number, made well, dropped fortnightly. Each one is a little piece of artwork that also happens to hold your keys, your phone, and your water bottle. Functional and beautiful, because there is no reason it can't be both.

Made by hand. Built to last. The bags.

Every ALMAA bag is crocheted by hand in the Yarra Valley using carefully chosen yarns and colourways that you won't find anywhere else. No two drops are the same. No two colourways are repeated. Each bag is its own thing, which is exactly the point.

The Romeo is our largest tote and the one that started it all. Big enough for everything a full day demands, with a built-in key and phone pocket so nothing ever gets lost at the bottom.

The Honey, the Joosh, the Asami, and the Paris each have their own personality smaller, bolder, and just as considered.

Every bag comes with pockets. Because a beautiful bag should also work hard.
