ALMAA started the way most good things do, without a plan.
I made a bag for myself. Then one for a friend. Then another, and another, until making bags had quietly become the most joyful part of my day. So I decided to stop apologising for it and start sharing it.
Every bag I make starts with a handful of yarn and a lot of intention. I live and make in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, where the mornings are slow, the light is good, and there is always something on the hook. ALMAA is my way of bringing a little of that into the everyday lives of the people who carry these bags.
I don't make hundreds of bags. I make a small number, made well, dropped fortnightly. Each one is a little piece of artwork that also happens to hold your keys, your phone, and your water bottle. Functional and beautiful, because there is no reason it can't be both.
