ALMAA — Terms of Service

Overview

This website is operated by ALMAA. Throughout this document the terms "we", "us", and "our" refer to ALMAA. By visiting our website and purchasing from us you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia and comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

1. About ALMAA

ALMAA is a small-batch handmade crochet bag brand based in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia. All products are handmade by founder Chelsie Spence and sold exclusively through our Shopify website at almaayarravalley.com.

2. Products

All ALMAA products are handmade in small batches. Due to the handmade nature of our products, slight variations in stitch tension, texture, and colour are a natural characteristic of the making process and are not considered faults.

Product descriptions, images, and colourway names are as accurate as possible. We make every effort to represent colours faithfully however slight variations may occur due to differences in screen calibration and device settings.

All products are subject to availability. We operate on a drop model — limited quantities of bags are released fortnightly on Monday nights. Once a product sells out it is no longer available.

3. Ordering

By placing an order through our website you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or guardian
  • The personal information you provide is accurate and complete
  • You are authorised to use the payment method provided

Orders are not confirmed until you receive an order confirmation email from us. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion, including in cases of pricing errors or suspected fraudulent activity. If an order is cancelled you will receive a full refund to your original payment method.

4. Pricing

All prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice. The price displayed at the time of purchase is the price you will be charged.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and are not included in the product price unless otherwise stated.

5. Payment

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Afterpay

Payment is processed securely through Shopify Payments. ALMAA does not store your payment details. All transactions are encrypted and processed in accordance with PCI DSS compliance standards.

Afterpay orders are subject to Afterpay's own terms and conditions. By selecting Afterpay as your payment method you agree to Afterpay's terms of service available at afterpay.com.

6. Shipping

We currently ship to Australian addresses only.

A flat rate shipping fee applies to all orders. This will be displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase.

Orders are dispatched within 3 to 5 business days of the drop closing. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking details once your order has been dispatched.

ALMAA is not responsible for delays caused by Australia Post or other circumstances outside of our control. If your order is lost or damaged in transit please contact us at hello@almaayarravalley.com and we will do our best to resolve the issue.

7. Custom orders

One custom order slot is available per fortnightly drop. By placing a custom order you agree to the following:

  • Custom orders are made specifically for you and cannot be cancelled once production has begun
  • You will be contacted to confirm your chosen style — Romeo, Bambi, or Honey — before production begins
  • Custom orders are subject to the same production and dispatch timeframes as standard orders
  • Custom orders are covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law in the event of a fault or significant difference from what was agreed

8. Add-on items

Water bottle pocket and tassel add-ons are attached to your bag during the making process. Please ensure you select the correct add-ons before completing your purchase as they cannot be removed or refunded separately after your order is placed.

9. Returns and refunds

Our returns and refunds policy is published separately on our website and forms part of these terms of service. Please read it carefully before placing an order.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of the terms of our returns policy. We cannot exclude, restrict, or modify the consumer guarantees provided under the ACL.

10. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including but not limited to text, images, product photography, graphics, logos, and brand assets — is the intellectual property of ALMAA and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written permission.

If you share ALMAA content on social media we ask that you always credit @ALMAA_YarraValley. We love seeing our bags out in the world.

11. User generated content

By tagging ALMAA or using our branded hashtags on social media you grant ALMAA a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to share and repost your content on our own social media channels and website. We will always credit you. If you would prefer we do not share your content please let us know at hello@almaayarravalley.com.

12. Waitlist and email marketing

By joining the ALMAA waitlist you agree to receive marketing emails from us including drop notifications, product previews, and occasional behind the scenes updates.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. We will never sell or share your personal information with third parties. For more information please read our Privacy Policy.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ALMAA will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of our website or products. Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount paid for the order in question.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

15. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective immediately upon being posted to our website. Your continued use of our website following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
